	Teesside Nautical Studies has operated on it's present site, under the Transporter bridge, for over 30 years. It was initially part of the former Southlands school (now the Southlands Leisure Centre) and more recently as a part of Middlesbrough Council's Education Department offering a service to Schools, Youth and Community Groups, Individuals and Industrial and Commercial users.

Trevor Forster is the principal of the centre having been associated with it since 1976 during which time it has undergone many changes. Trevor is a Commercial Yachtmaster and a RYA Powerboat Trainer and is the person who will arrange your course or visit.

		Philip Breeze, our boatswain is also a Powerboat Instructor and equally at home maintaining boats as driving them. Phil has been with us for 5 years and as an Advanced Powerboat driver acts as relief skipper on board Northumbria.

	Gordon assists us in running Powerboat courses. Gordon is a RYA Powerboat and sailing instructor and is involved with watersports at Castlegate Quay Watersports Centre, Stockton.
